Mike Parsons

Principal, Cheltenham Centre Tutor

Revd Canon Dr. Mike Parsons MA DPhil

Mike Parsons is an Anglican Minister who become Principal in November 2004 after being Diocesan Director of Ordinands for Gloucester Diocese. He is married with teenage children.

Particular interests

With a background in science Mike has an interest in the interface of science and religion and has done some work in the Oxford Colleges in this area. He is also a registered Myers Briggs Tutor and is interested in New Testament Studies.

Rob Daborn

Pastoral Tutor and Ludlow Centre Tutor

Rob Daborn BA, MA,

Rob comes to us from a ministry in Lichfield Diocese particularly involved in Local Ministry and Reader and OLM training. He has a particular concern for pastoral ministry and the development of lay ministries.

Francis Miles

Francis Miles BA, MEd,

Francis comes to us from a ministry in rural parishes in Hereford Diocese. She is half time with WEMTC and now has 3 parishes in Bath and Wells Diocese. She trained at Sarum and Wells Theological College. Her interests are Doctrine and Biblical Studies.

Elizabeth Harper

Director of Foundation Training, Assistant Bristol Centre Tutor

Elizabeth Harper BA/LLB MA

Elizabeth comes from New Zealand with a background in law. She studied for theology degrees at Trinity College, Bristol and continues to do some teaching for the Bristol Federation for Theological Education (Wesley College, Trinity College, Bristol Baptist College). She works part-time for WEMTC and is studying for a PhD on Genesis 6-9 the rest of the time (sort of).

Particular interests

The Old Testament, the Old Testament and the Old Testament. She is always keen to show that the Old Testament is relevant to the person in the pew. Besides the Old Testament Elizabeth is interested in hermeneutics (the methods and ways we understand the Bible), biblical preaching, early church history, biblical languages and Ignatian spirituality. Reader Staff

Jane Kenchington

Director of Reader Training Cheltenham and Assistant Cheltenham Centre Tutor

Revd Jane Kenchington B.Sc(Hons)PGCE

Jane Kenchington is an Anglican priest who is a half time staff member primarily involved in oversight of Reader Training at the Cheltenham Centre and Assistant Cheltenham Centre Tutor. Jane studied at Wescott House, Cambridge and is now doing an MA in Applied Theology at Trinity College, Bristol. Her dissertation is looking at the relationship between worship and Christian spiritual formation. Before ordination, Jane taught chemistry in secondary schools in West Africa and in England. Since ordination in 1990, Jane has held parochial posts in both stipendiary and non-stipendiary ministry in Gloucester Diocese.

Particular interests

Jane is particularly interested in creative liturgy, new ways of being Church and adult education. Bringing these together she she is keen to develop programmes that obtain the right balance between knowledge of the faith, requisite skills for Reader ministry and personal and spiritual development.

Sue Yoxall


Sue is our Administrator, Office Secretary, PA to the Principal and organiser of us all. She works Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please try and ring between 9.30am and 3pm.

The Bursar's job is currently vacant, please contact the office for details of the job.

Jane Cusworth

Jane Cusworth


Jane is our Academic Administrator. Besides organising the Director of Studies she keeps all the academic records without which there would be no Diplomas or Certificates. She works Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
