S5 Racism Awareness Saturday Workshop
Apologies this page is still under construction and is not yet complete.
Welcome to the S5 Racism Awareness Workshop web page. This page is designed to provide useful resources relating to topics covered in S5 with WEMTC. If you have found useful resources or have questions you would like ask, please do contribute.
This Workshop will examine institutional racism in the Church and the racism within each of us before exploring ways in which we can combat racism. It is designed to alert students to the nature and history of racism, its prevalence in Britain and its presence in the churches. A brief biblical and theological critique of racism will be offered with some ways of challenging racism in the Church and society. There will be work on the implicit racism and prejudice within ourselves and experiential learning about marginalisation. As a result this saturday workshop will be slightly longer than others.

You may find the following web sites helpful for reflecting on the Racism Awareness. Material on the net has no quality control making tutors very wary - and rightly so! Nevertheless there is a growing amount of first class work on line particularly coming from Religious Studies Departments of good Universities. Treat with care and you'll find it very useful.
The Internet is not 100% reliable and documents move, disappear and change their names. If you find a link does not work, try again in an hour, a day, or a week. But do feel free to email us to report a link doesn't work. Don't forget to tell us the name of the link!
