WEMTC Trip to Prediger-Seminar Nuremburg

In Spring 1993 a small group of Ludlow Ordinands visited the Evangelical Lutheran Prediger Seminar (Preachers College) in Nurnberg to see how training was "done" German Style. The trip was made through the Hereford Diocesan link. And they even named the photos! Attending were: Alistair B, Gareth J, Doiran W, Andrew L, Mary Lou T, Vivian N, David B, Bob M, Judith H-J, Viv F.

Andrew sent in these reminiscences: It was wonderful to see the familiar faces again (I haven't been good at keeping in touch with all my cohort). I should say, apologetically, that I'm the one playing the rather extravagant table-tennis shot. In the foreground is Alistair B, and on the receiving end are Doiran W and Mary-Lou T, all looking somewhat more relaxed in their approach. We had a wonderful time both in Nuremberg and in our training. We were studying at a transitional phase. We started with the Gloucester School for Ministry, because the Gloucester and Hereford School for Ministry,, and finally WEMTC. At the start we had two weekly meetings in Ludlow, but these went down to once a week. David Brindley was a wonderful principal, whose skills ranged across our whole curriculum. We used to have weekend meetings at Almondsbury and Cropthorne, and after the closure of the former, at Cropthorne and Glenfall (a great improvement!).

1995 Summer School Glenfall

The WEMTC Ordinands summer School 1995 was at Glenfall on the theme "Authority and Conflict" Fri 18th August - Sunday 27th August. It included Gospel and Culture, Bible Studies, Feminist and Liberation Theologies, Church Leadership, Handling Conflict, church visits, visits from the police (!) and Roly the Clown, a day in Oxford and a Quiet Day.
