Major Review

The Major Review document was created in 2003 for the University of Gloucestershire and the Anglican and Methodist Churches. It was approved by the University as a Certificate and Diploma Programme validated by the University and it was approved by the Churches as an acceptable programme for training Ministerial Students. The document is large and the Appendices larger. I hope over the next while to get the document on the web site both in html and in rtf format. As sections are put on the web they will appear on this page.

Major Review Contents

In 1997 WEMTC submitted a document both to its sponsoring Churches and (for the first time) to its validating Higher Education Institution, Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education (now the University of Gloucestershire). The new course was introduced over a three-year period and has been the subject of considerable review and reflection. This document follows, for the most part, the format required by Mission and Ministry, the Churches' Validation Framework, but it incorporates the requirements of the University of Gloucestershire for Major Reviews of its validated programmes. We hope that the different bodies to which this document is submitted will find it valuable to see how our academic accountability relates to our obligations to our sponsoring Churches, and vice versa. A new feature of this submission is that it includes the proposals for a revalidation of training for Ordained Local Ministry (OLM) through the Gloucester Diocesan OLM scheme, in conjunction with WEMTC. Sections of the Major Review currently on line are indicated by links:
